Open Eye Gallery presents the shocking images of Sicilian photographer and photojournalist Letizia Battaglia. The Liverpool exhibition guides the viewer through one of the darkest periods in post-war Italy spanning works from the mid ’70s to the early ’90s. The exhibition leads the viewer to reflect on the role of photography as an incentive for taking action, bearing witness, providing evidence and documenting history.
