Comme des Garcons & Hermes Collaborate

Fashion's most unusual marriage sees Comme des Garcons wed to Hermes in a collection of six stunning scarves.  The scarves, 200 prints each: Quirky, irreverent patterns, graffiti over traditional Hermes prints, and unexpected shirt stripes turn up the volume on the usually muted silk Carré scarves.

The collaboration is initially set to exclusively hit Dover Street Market on February 6 2013

Bags Big at Milan Menswear

MILAN, Italy —
Menswear has moved on to Paris but whilst in Milan, accessories were BIG with the boys.  Below Bottega, Gucci and Burberry.
Sonny Vandevelde was backstage in Milan again this season to give us a behind-the-scenes look into the Milan menswear collections for Autumn/Winter 2013. Accessories were strong, with bold shoes and standout leathergoods from Burberry, Bottega Veneta and Prada. Mrs Prada also advocated a relaxed, but considered geek chic vibe amongst some of the more put together looks in shades of grey, black and beige seen elsewhere.

Model Mother and Vogue Cover Girl Kati

Russian-born German-raised Kati Nescher, mother of a two year old, is Vogue's February cover girl.  We prefer this shot of her to that chosen by the editor.  It is refreshing to see such a beauty gracing the cover of the UK's leading fashion journal at the age of 29 years.  Kati is a rising star.  Watch this space.

Oscar, Jackie and John Galliano - 'O'!

The suave and glamourous Oscar de la Renta has shown his support one of fashion's greatest living designers and rebel rousers - John Galliano.  Best known for the many outfits he made for Jackie Kennedy, this is a surprising but short term collaboration offering the talented Senor Galliano the opportunity to get his toe back in the fashion door after a too long absence.  So, for those born more recently than I, who is Oscar?  Wikipedia says:Óscar Aristides de la Renta Fiallo (born July 22, 1932 of a Dominican mother and Puerto Rican father) is one of the world's leading fashion designers. Trained by Cristóbal Balenciaga and Antonio Castillo, he became internationally known in the 1960s as one of the couturiers to dress Jacqueline Kennedy. An award-winning designer, he worked for Lanvin and Balmain; his eponymous fashion house continues to dress leading figures, from film stars to royalty, into the 2010s. De La Renta is particularly known for his red carpet gowns and evening wear.

Jergen Teller at ICA

We're no great fans of Kate Moss but can't help but admire how the camera loves her, seen here pictured by Teller barefaced and fresh.  Teller's work - which we have featured many a time - goes on show at London's ICA on the 27th January.  Catch it if you can!

Rising Star Andrea Riseborough

One of our favourite young actors, Andrea Riseborough, has been nominated for the BAFTA Rising Star award. Her outstanding performance in Shadow Dancer more than justifies her nomination. To vote simply click this link:

Delfina's Smoking Cuff inspired by Tim Burton

We love this witty take on a smoking cuff from Italian jeweller Delfina Delettrez.  Featuring gold, silver and white diamonds the cuff is available from Courture Lab at (a currently unaffordable but aspirational) £1905.  Delfina is inspired by anatomy and the aesthetic of Tim Burton.  We want one!

Happy 2013 (0123)

Moving offices, business trips abroad, house moves, and illness meant that the blog was neglected during December - for which our apologies!  Hopefully, our followers were too busy with their own Christmas celebrations to notice .....
The numbers 0123 do not appear again until 2031 and then not again until 1302 by which time it is doubtful any of us will be here.  2012 saw 12.12pm on 12th of the 12th month of 2012 - extraordinary!  Wishing you a hugely happy and lucky year 13!  We'll be posting again very shortly.  Promise.
