Marques'Almeida: Denim Never Dies
For us, denim remains a true staple whether in the form of jeans, jackets or skirts. Now, design duo Paulo Almeida and Mara Marques (alumni of London's Central Saint Martins) expand the use of denim to create cutting-edge, utilitarian pieces, such as a frayed-hem chambray T-shirt dress and a distressed, oversized jackets. Their AW 14 collection again focussed on denim but Matchesfashion offers the current collection now. If you're going to invest in denim, we suggest this is the label to go for.

Bold Prints at Milan Fashion Week
Show stopping STELLA JEAN is a refreshing and bold designer off-the-block. In Milan for autumn/winter 2014 she introduced a melange of Italian, Japanese and African cultures. Jean is a major stakeholder in the International Trade Centre’s Ethical Fashion Initiative – gaining momentum for investment dressing. We’ve been dressing our furniture in African printed fabrics for the past few seasons. Looks like we might be stripping off the armchairs and wearing them!

Germano Celant and Subodh Gupta at New Delhi exhibition
Germano Celant and Subodh Gupta join forces in an exciting exhibition based on itinerant images such as an iconic Mumbai taxi drowning under the weight of its luggage. Everyday commonplace items are transformed and given significance. The exhibition is spread across the original 1936 residence of the Maharaja of Jaipur and the museum's modern concrete and glass extension. Catch the exhibition at Jaipur House, New Delhi before it closes in March.

Henri Matisse is a giant of modern art. The landmark exhibition, opening at Tate Modern on 17 April, explores the final chapter in his career in which he began ‘carving into colour’ and his spectacular cut-outs were born. In his final years, confined to his bed through ill-health, he created vibrant, joyful pieces with a staggering freedom of expression. Meanwhile, in the interim before the show British designers at London Fashion Week have been collaborating with artists or using painterly prints on everything from scarves to full on coats. Below: Burberry, Burberry, Mother of Pearl and Issa.
