The Hippest '80's Designer

One of our very favourite designers of the '80's (yes, some of us bloggers ARE that old!) was Norma Kamali who designed the most fabulous sweatshirt fabric clothing.  Chic, fun, witty and wearable.  Then she all but disappeared from our radar to reappear with the most fabulous outfit in English Vogue two years ago.  All went quiet on the Western front again until the start of last year when her fabulous swimwear collection hit British stores such as Harvey Nichols.  An article that appeared online in the last few days caught our attention and we thought you too would like to learn about Norma, the Queen of the Puffa.  Enjoy!

Our favourite cinema club, the Lexi in Kensal Rise, takes movie going to a new level with NOMAD - a travelling movie theatre - and a first winter showing in Zippo's circus tent in Finsbury Park on Sunday 3rd April.  An opportunity to see one of our fave raves from the grave, Strictly Come Dancing, and take to the floor  to shake our booty!  Sounds like fun to us ...

Good for One and One for Good!

One of our very favourite young fashion labels is Goodone, a designer collection with "up-cycling" front of mind. "Up-cycling"???? - biking up steep hills perhaps? Non! This London Fashion Week exhibitor has made a deliberate choice to source sustainably since it was conceived in 2006. It uses end of rolls, offcuts and obsolete fabrics - all from Britain - combined with fabrics cut from once loved and vintage throw aways. Sounds horrible? Don't kid yourself. Design is the key element combined with ingenuity and fashion savvy results in desireable pieces you'll want to keep forever. Each piece is unique and Goodone also fits to size on request. And once they have your measurements on file they will keep them for your future orders. Check out the site and indulge - both for yourself and the future of the planet ...

Check out Lil London's Blogging song!  She must have simply forgotten to include the Fashion Bloggers or perhaps our name did not rhyme?

Galliano's Swansong and Back to Black for Lanvin

Galliano's collection in an intimate Saloon was proof positive of his genius.  This kimono style piece has become a signature piece.  Headware by Stephen Jones crowned almost every head.
And Lanvin made a welcome return to black (often mixed with inky blues) topped with amazing 'witches' style wide brimmed hats.

Long Live the McQueen!

These amazing 'pieces' are as close to art as shoes can get!  From the Alexander McQueen Spring Summer 2011 collection designed by 'Lee's' right hand, Sarah Burton who is proving herself more than a worthy successor to the master we lost last year.  Long reign McQueen!

Watch this Tongue in chic piece ...

OK OK OK - so I've nicked this image off my mate's blog Disney Roller Girl - she's a great blogger with great style and she found them first BUT - I LOVE this wrap Swatch watch.  Got my eye on the khaki but think I might also opt for the peach as a summer option.  Great for those of us without the dosh to purchase the Hermes original and very 'tongue in chic'

The Genius of Galliano

Galliano - a taste of the Genius he brings to fashion.  Dior's loss.
